Until now, the cities of Brij, Mathura, and Avadh in Uttar Pradesh were famous for the Holi celebrations. However, that is now set to change as the Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa, Haryana has entered into the record books for the largest Holi celebration ever recorded in the world.
This World Record is a new addition to the numerous records that are already held by Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan.
The World Record was set on 29th April on the occasion of the Foundation Day of the Dera Sacha Sauda. During the Holy Congregation ceremony on this day, Saint appeared on stage holding a remote control.
As soon as he pressed a button, water sprinklers started spraying color on 9 lakh volunteers that were present in the pandal which stretched across 50 acres. This achievement was immediately recorded in the Asia Book of Records.
The creation of this historical moment started at exactly 1:16 am, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan launched the first song “Mari Holi ki Pichkari, Har Koi Rangta” from the upcoming comedy film Jattu Engineer. On the special request of the entire audience, the song was played again at 02:32 am and 02:37 am.
As the volunteers danced to the song which was being played on large screens at the venue, Saint Dr MSG pressed a button on a remote control. Immediately, volunteers present across the entire venue were dunked in color by hundreds of sprinklers that had been specially installed for the occasion. This sprinklers were connected to a large external tanker which supplied the water.
This led to a great amount of enthusiasm and excitement among the people who were now drenched in the colors of Holi. In the enjoyment of the song and the colors, the entire audience of 9 lakh people started dancing which led to the creation of another record at 02:42 am. This record has also been included in the Asia Book of Records.
It must be mentioned here that the 9 lakh people in the pandal were just a small fraction of the 1.06 crore total attendees who were present on this auspicious occasion of the Foundation Day. Since the water sprinklers were installed only inside the main pandal for the Holy Congregation, the shower of colors could only be done on the 9 lakh people that were within this venue.
