Inspired by the teachings of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, a Dera Sacha Sauda volunteer from Italy flew down to India and donated his kidney, thus helping save a life. The family of K. K. Sharma, the kidney recipient, expressed gratitude to the donor and to the Revered Saint for inspiring people to donate their organs.
The donor Narendra Insan is a Dera Sacha Sauda volunteer who is originally from Pehwa but has business interests in Italy and across the world. He has a vegetable supply business in Italy and was supposed to go back in April after spending 5 months in his motherland.
The happiness of K.K Sharma’s family was indescribable in words after this surgery took place. His wife, Bhavan Sharma, said that it was due to the benevolence and blessings of the Revered Saint that her husband’s life could be saved. She expressed gratitude to the donor Narendra Insan for his selfless gesture. Mrs. Sharma said that the entire family had been going through massive problem’s due to her husband’s illness. K.K. Sharma’s son even had to quit his job and they had to send their daughter to a hostel in Dalhousie due to her father’s illness.
This kind and selfless act by Narendra Insan has brought the smile back on the faces of this family.
Donating a life
Narendra Insan is among the thousands of Good Samaritans who have filled a pledge form to donate one of their kidneys while alive in accordance with the law.
The inspiration behind this is the message of Revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan to participate in selfless service for the welfare of humanity and to save the lives of fellow human beings.

When Narendra Insan heard about K.K Sharma’s illness, he immediately agreed to donate one of his kidney to save the life of a fellow brother human being. He met with the family of K.K. Sharma and expressed his desire to help the patient. After all the necessary tests were conducted, the kidney transplant surgery took place on Friday 28th April.
During an interview on Saturday, Narendra Insan said that the procedure had gone ahead successfully and was smooth and painless thanks to the blessings of the Revered Saint. He also said that he was thankful for the opportunity to help save the life of a fellow human being. Narendra Insan said that ultimately the power to save lives is in the hands of God and it is He who provides us with the inspiration and will-power to play a part in that process.

Dera Sacha Sauda: Saving lives through organ donation
Under the guidance and inspiration of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan Aka MSG, volunteers of the Dera Sacha Sauda are encouraged to donate their organs for the betterment of humanity and for saving the lives of other human beings. People voluntarily sign a form which commits towards donating their eyes, organs such as kidneys, skin, and also their cadaver to facilitate the process of saving the lives of other human beings.
As part of this extremely selfless gesture, the Revered Saint has even appealed to the government of India to simplify the process of organ donation so that more lives can be saved every year. In fact, the organ donation campaign of the Dera Sacha Sauda is considered to be among the largest in India.
In 2011, the Revered Saint and the Dera Sacha Sauda made multiple records in the Asian Book of Records for
- the largest number of people signing up as voluntary eye donors,
- largest number of people signing up as voluntary blood donors, and
- highest number of people pledging their organs and the whole body after their death.
Efforts and campaigns like these help save numerous lives of individuals who desperately need an organ transplant for their survival. And when the life on one individual is saved, it also ends up saving an entire family.
